Day 1: Yangon - Thanlyin - Yangon
Our experienced English-speaking guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel (08:00 AM). Drive to Thanlyin (Syriam), a colonial town which was a major port and important trading centre from the 14th through the 18th centuries until it was displaced by Yangon in 1755. Arrive in Thanlyin. As a first visit, we will go to Thanlyin Market to see people’s lifestyle and will explore its surroundings by local horse–cart.
After this we will visit Kyaik-Khauk Pagoda (most likely the first stupa on this hillock was erected by the Mon AD- 600-800), where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Bago River and the skyline of Yangon.
We will continue the tour going to Kyauk Tan (Yele) and visiting its Pagoda with the local boat, since the complex is perched on a tiny island in the middle of the river. Finally, we will explore the little pleasant village and see the local daily life.
