Day 1: Bagan - Pakokku - Bagan
Your English-speaking guide and driver will meet you at your hotel lobby at 08:00 a.m. and drive to Pakokku, about 32 km west of Bagan. Located on the western bank of the Ayeyarwaddy, it is a bustling tobacco center.
Once in the small town, we will explore it by traditional trishaws and visit the authentic local market where locals gather to sell and buy vegetables, fish or textiles. We will continue the excursion visiting workshops of weaving cotton blanket and cheroot making, before stopping at the monastery, where we will learn about the monastic life in Myanmar.
Finally, we will continue to Thiho-Shin Pagoda, which houses one of the most revered images in Myanmar presented by the King of Ceylon some 800 years ago. Return to Bagan, where we will enjoy the sunset on the Irrawaddy River, before transferring back to the hotel.
