Visit Mingun and enjoy the slow boat trip up the Ayeyarwady River from Mandalay, offering a peaceful glimpse of everyday life in the Burmese countryside. Then, cruise back Mandalay and discover the cultural highlights of the city.

Mandalay - Mingun - Mandalay

Meet and greet at hotel and drive to the jetty to join local boat trip on the Ayeyarwady River upriver from Mandalay to Mingun (11 Km, about one hour) enjoying the picturesque scenery of this river and the lifestyles of the local people, small longtail boats, bamboo rafts and ferries carry goods up and down the river. Arrive Mingun and start visit the Mingun Bell, Mingun Bell which weighs more than 87 tons and is more than 3.7 meters tall. This is the world’s largest uncracked bell. Continue to the beautiful Hsinbyume (Ma Thein Tan) Pagoda, a white-washed temple built to resemble Mount Meru. Then, head to mighty Mingun Pagoda (built to be the world's biggest) . Sail back to Mandalay. Enjoy Lunch at Local Restaurant. Afternoon visit to beautiful teak-carved Shwenandaw Monastery or Golden Palace Monastery-which is noted for its intricate wood carvings, the only Royal Palace building to survive World War II bombing. Continue visit to Kuthodaw Pagoda, home to ‘the world’s largest book’, a collection of more than 700 marble slabs inscribed with Buddhist teachings. End the trip at Mandalay Hill lie glittering glass-studded temple walls which reflect the evening glow as you watch the sunset. Transfer to hotel.
