This grand tour includes Yangon and its stunning Shwedagon Pagodathe, the centrepiece of the city. Closer to the waterfront, downtown Yangon is a warren of historic streets concealing some of the best British colonial-era architecture in the region. Bagan is one of Southeast Asia's architectural wonders and the Myanmar's headline attraction with over 4000 temples. Mandalay is the second largest in the country. It's impossible not to be impressed by the golden Buddha of Mahamuni Pagoda. However, the real attractions lie beyond in the ancient cities of Amarapura, Inwa, Sagaing and Mingun. Kalaw is taking off as a trekking destination thanks to its elevated position at 1320m on the rolling, pine-clad hills of the Shan Plateau. Inle Lake is a magical watery world of floating gardens, stilted villages and crumbling stupas, Inle Lake is one of Myanmar's most alluring attractions.
Arrive Yangon Airport. Meet and greet at airport and welcomed by our experienced guide and transfer to hotel for check-in. Start sightseeing tour and head to Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda to see a huge reclining Buddha image. Photo stop for panoramic view at Kandawgyi Royal Park. Complete your first day in Myanmar with an extended visit to one of the world's most spectacular monuments, the Shwedagon Pagoda: its golden stupa is the 'heart ' of Myanmar. The pagoda is believed 2,600 years old and the central stupa is surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated buildings and statues. There are always many Myanmar people praying and making donation at the pagoda. Drive back to hotel and leisure time. Transfer to the hotel and overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Check-out hotel and transfer to airport for domestic flight to Bagan. Arrive at Nyaung-U airport, first visit to Nyaung-Oo morning market to see people ways of life. Then, visits to the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including Shwezigon Pagoda built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th as a religious shrine. Continue visit Ananda Temple, a whitewashed masterpiece of Mon architecture with four standing Buddhas, and the adjacent brick monastery with the beautiful well-preserved 18th century murals. Visit to Thatbinnyu Temple known as “temples of omniscience” and dating from 1144. Continue onto the Sulamani temple. Transfer to the hotel and free time. Afternoon, visit one of Myanmar's most treasured handicrafts, a lacquer ware home industry: nearby Myingabar village. Continue onto Damayangyi Temple, the most massive temple in Bagan). Experience local horsecart in Bagan complex and watch the sunset from the terrace of temple. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Free time before meeting the guide at hotel and visit Payarthonezu Temple Complex. After sightseeing, drive back to hotel. Explore Min Nan Thu Village on the way back, renowned for its hand weaving and cheroots. Visit to Apyeyandanar Temple. Evening visit to Lawkannandar and sunset at temple. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel.Transfer to Nyaung Oo Airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. Arrive at Mandalay Airport and first excursion to Amarapura: Mahagandayon Monastery, home to several thousand young monks where you can watch the whole monastery having their meal silently. Then head to 200-years-old U Bein teak bridge built in 1728 at the time when Amarapura was royal capital. Visit traditional hand – woven silk workshop teak posts. Continue onto Sagaing by passing Ava Bridge; enjoy the panoramic view at the top of the hill then visit silversmith shop. Drive back to Mandalay and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to jetty and excursion by boat on Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingun about 1 hour upper river from Mandalay. Visit Mingun bell, the world largest uncracked bell, weighing 90 tons and continue onto Hsinbyume as well as unfinished Pagoda built as one of the world's largest cherish by king Bodaw Paya by traditional styled bullock-cart. After sightseeing sail back to Mandalay. Start excursion tour, visit the Shwenandaw Palace also known as former Royal Palace, which was once King Mindon’s home. Experience the sights and sounds of Mandalay including one of the most revered religious images in Myanmar, the Mahamuni Pagoda. Stop to see stone carving and later to see gold leaf being beaten into wafer thin pieces. Visit the Shwenandaw Monastery, excellent example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda, the world’s largest book made of marble. Enjoy spectacular views at sunset from Mandalay Hill there are interesting glass-studded temples. Enjoy sunset at Mandalay Hill. Transfer to hotel. Free time. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Mandalay Airport for domestic flight to Heho. Arrive at Heho Airport and drive to Pindaya. Visit magnificent Pindaya caves set in a limestone ridge overlooking a picturesque lake where thousands of different types of Buddha images are displayed in the various cave chambers. Then, visit some local houses where families produce Shan paper and parasols. After lunch, drive to Kalaw, the trekking destination thanks to its elevated position at 1320m on the rolling, pine-clad hills of the Shan Plateau. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at Hotel. Visit morning colorful local market. Starts drive down into the valley to Nyaung Shwe on the edge of the Inle Lake. Arrive at Nyaung Shwe village and proceed to Inle lake by local boat. Check-in at hotel. Heading to the middle of Inle lake and visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in Southern Shan State and the floating market villages & gardens where fruit and vegetables are grown. See traditional handicrafts – silk weaving on wooden handlooms and a blacksmith shop. Stop at Ngaphechaung Monastery which is the famous and oldest monastery in Inle Lake. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel.Transfer by boat to visit the lake’s morning market, the location of which changes every day. The Intha and Paohhilltribes sell their fresh products here. Continue by boat onto the Pa-Oh village of Indein, on the western shore of Inle Lake, enshrined among hundreds of stupa ruins and overgrown shrubbery and stop at the weaving village of Inpawkhone and a cheroot factory, where traditional Burmese cigars are handmade. Transfer by boat to your hotel. Free time at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer Heho airport for domestic flight to Yangon. Transfer to hotel and stop at Karaweik Royal Barge for photo shooting. Check in to your hotel. Afternoon shopping to the Bogyoke Market (Scotts market) with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems store. Visit to China Town & fruit market to see evening life of Yangon. Transfer to the hotel and free time. Overnight at hotel.
